Three dates to choose from: 24th, 25th or 26th Aug 2018
We’ll be meeting at The Flotterstone Inn, a lovely welcoming little country pub on the edge of the wonderfully picturesque Pentland Hills. The course will start there at 12pm with a 20 minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers.
We will then set off for a slow walk around the area identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we find. We’ll stop for some lovely homemade refreshments along the way, such as our wild mushroom soup, fruit leathers or elderflower champagne.
After a 2-3 hour walk we’ll head back to the pub for a tatsy wild food lunch including a salad that we’ll pick on the day, a mushroom dish we will cook in front of you and some other treats that we’ll bring along with us.
After the walk we will email all of you details of all the plants we find to help you remember what you have learnt.
Please bear in mind this is a walk in the Pentland Hills and our usual route does include a reasonably steep hill.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Edinburgh Summer Foraging Course are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
