About Edinburgh’s Got Soul Choir - Soul Review with Sharlene Hector
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
This Spring it’s time to get on your feet with the Got Soul Choir’s Soul Review! Selected by the Choir members themselves, this is the ultimate selection of highlights from their previous sell-out concerts across Scotland. You’ll hear, dance and sing along to the Got Soul Choir’s unique interpretations of classic and contemporary soul songs by the likes of Aretha Franklin, Chic, Sister Sledge, Stevie Wonder, Average White Band and many, many more. Alongside the massed voices of Edinburgh’s Got Soul Choir and a full live band, special guest vocalist Sharlene Hector (Basement Jaxx) returns to Edinburgh and is guaranteed to raise the roof so don’t miss the Soul Review!
The Got Soul Choir is a registered charity founded in Edinburgh in 2012 by Maryam Ghaffari. It’s charitable purpose is to bring people out of loneliness and isolation by getting connected through singing soul music. The choir has successfully expanded to Dundee and Glasgow and, in 2018, will start a new choir in Fife. Got Soul Choir have performed sold out shows at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall (with special guests Mica Paris in 2016 and 5 After Midnight in 2017), Glasgow’s O2 ABC, Dundee’s Caird Hall, as well as events like Edinburgh’s Fair Trade Fiesta, Glasgow’s West End Festival and Dundee’s WestFest. In 2017 the Choir opened the live performances at Edinburgh’s world famous Hogmanay Street Party, appearing on three stages simultaneously to perform a new arrangement of Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”.
