About the workshop

Every day women all over the world realise that the hopes they have for themselves are in conflict with the messages that women have been receiving from the world around them: that a womans voice is somehow less important, or that being strong, powerful and outspoken is just not appropriate or attractive for a woman. Thankfully and fortunately countless of strong men and women are breaking some of these barriers today and women are beginning to get a new set of messages in this world.
Many women describe that they need to work harder than men to prove themselves or to be taken seriously. And females often compete against each other. This competition has a price that potentially interferes with well being, especially for young women.

In this workshop will look at the potential struggles, challenges and female strengths from an ACT perspective. Through discussions and exercises we will work on female empowerment and connection between women in compassionate, fierce and fabulous ways.

During this event the participants will learn:
1. To celebrate their womanliness and defuse from perceived barriers
2. To practice assertiveness and other functional communication skills when for example facing discrimination and chauvinism
3. To turn struggle into strength, to stand by yourself and to connect with and empower other women
