About Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival: Average White Band
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
One of the best Festival gigs of recent years was AWB’s triumphant 2016 show, and the best soul, of r’n’b, and funk band alive are back in Edinburgh, for a repeat of that Festival Theatre smash hit. Founder members Alan Gorrie and Onnie McIntyre, front the group, and keep the flame of the classic sound, distilling their special blend of r’n’b, jazz, soul, and Motown into a potent funky mix. They still invest live shows with the energy and excitement that they did when “Pick Up The Pieces’, “Cut The Cake” and “Person To Person” were charting.
