Growing Up With Books

About Growing Up With Books

Explore the world of children’s books at the Museum of Childhood. This exhibition will have a large selection of books from the Museum archives, ranging from the 18th century through to the mid 20th century. There will be some familiar characters and some surprises – such as well known fairy tales or a book from 1725 with a connection to Bonnie Prince Charlie. Personal stories are told through inscriptions, scraps and handmade stories.

This exhibition has been developed in partnership with Scotland’s Early Literature for Children Initiative (SELCIE) at the University of Edinburgh.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Growing Up With Books are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
