Get involved in a two-day workshop of Commedia dell'Arte!
The Academy of Commedia dell'Arte consists of four masterclasses held by experts about this Italian form of theatre based on the vocal, physical and mimic skills of the actors.
Each class will cover specific topics, ranging from movement techniques to vocal training, from improvisation and use of the mask to modern applications of Commedia in physical theatre and character building. The Academy is for performers, theatre-makers, artists and anyone interested in exploring the themes and techniques of Commedia dell’Arte.
Next masterclass will take place in the weekend of 16/17 June 2018 and will be held by OLLY CRICK, a director who trained in Commedia dell’Arte with Carlo Boso, Feruccio Soleri, Marcello Magni, Phillipe Gaullier, John Wright and Barry Grantham.
He has also taught Commedia at RADA, LAMDA and the Guildford School of Acting.
Participants will learn about the legacy of Commedia in Shakespeare comedies, traditional European theatre and the application of Commedia to modern performing arts.
It really is a possibility for every actor and performer to broaden their knowledge and improve their skills on stage.
