About Formation Festival
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Formation is a new festival showcasing the talents of the Annexe Repertory Theatre company in four new shows: Care, Cowards Anonymous, Mr and Mrs She and The Maids. Directed by award winning locally based talent Tyler Mortimer, Sofia Nakou and Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir plus founder David McFarlane and with three new plays and a contemporary classic lined up; we are excited to invite you to this summer's festival.
We are also hosting a range of events by companies we believe in and showcasing recent shows we have liked. This is an opportunity for us to support the local theatre community and for them to be seen by a wider public. Some are testing material ahead of the Fringe, others are offering a rare opportunity for Edinburgh audiences to catch their touring work and some are making their world premieres with their very first shows to date. In total we have a whopping 13 different shows on offer from visiting companies, in addition to our 4 'in house' shows. That's 17 different shows with 36 performances in 6 days! We have spoken word, Shakespeare, new writing, music, the topical, comical, strange, witty and heartbreaking. It's all happening at Assembly Roxy this July.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Formation Festival are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
