About Storms and Dreams - Ensemble vocal Filigrane at Old Saint Paul’s Church

Storms and Dreams is a spellbinding programme of choral polyphony from Strasbourg’s Ensemble vocal Filigrane, which visits Scotland this July.

It is your chance to hear one of France’s most highly acclaimed choirs singing the ethereal and powerful works of musical giants like Elgar, Ravel, Reger and Whitacre.

Depicting the challenges and aspirations of humankind, this collection of musical masterpieces perfectly demonstrates the 23 voices of Filigrane, under the direction of renowned conductor Jean-Philippe Billmann.

"It is clear that Billmann has a firmly established reputation... [These musicians] blend perfectly... the sonorous texture is seamlessly woven and well-rounded...
"The flexibility of [Billmann's] conducting makes for remarkably lucid contrasts [in his music-making]. You really are in seventh heaven."
- Christian Wolff, Strasbourg music critic
