Wee Scientist Wanted: English-Polish Child Language Study

About Wee Scientist Wanted: English-Polish Child Language Study

Bilingualism Matters, Wee Science, and the University of Edinburgh are currently conducting research into how young children (aged 24-30 months) from English-Polish families learn words.

This is a fun study where children get to play in our amazing space designed for children of most of the time. Lego, wooden railway tracks, stuffed toy animals, and so many more toys to enjoy for just themselves :-)

In the main part of the study, your child will be sat on your lap looking at pictures and then listen to sentences, while their eye movements are being recorded.

The study takes place at 7 George Square, University of Edinburgh, and the whole session lasts approximately 45 minutes.

To thank you both for your participation, your child will receive a certificate of participation & stickers, and you will be thanked with a voucher at Söderberg Cafe.

If you would like to participate in this study, please get in touch with Kate (k.m.repnik@sms.ed.ac.uk) to make an appointment.

This study is approved by the Linguistics & English Language Ethics Committee.

We look forward to hearing from you.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Wee Scientist Wanted: English-Polish Child Language Study are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
