About Repair and Remake Your Own Jewellery

Is your favourite necklace broken? Do you have a jewellery box full of single earrings and loose beads? Have you been holding onto that special pendant in the hopes that one day you’ll be able to repair or remake it and wear it once again?

Then gather your broken pieces of jewellery – pendants, beads, chain, catches, anything! – and join us at the Remakery where you’ll learn how to transform these forgotten bits into new and unique pieces of jewellery that you can wear again and again.

In this brand new workshop taught by trained jeweller, Jo Barrett, you will learn the techniques required to create new from old. Traditional jewellers hand tools and techniques will be used to provide you with the knowledge and skills to carry on repairing and upcycling jewellery at home. By the end of the workshop you will leave with at least one newly remade piece of jewellery to take home with you, and will have the opportunity to try out various finishes to create a whole matching set.

All equipment and tools are provided. There will be extra pieces of jewellery, including beads, chain, links, fastenings, etc, which you can incorporate into your design, but you are encouraged to bring along your own items for that personal touch. If you’d like to incorporate something that was not designed for jewellery, there will also be a specialist tool available to drill a small hole into items to make them suitable for this purpose.
