Don Paterson and Graeme Stephen are two of the most creative and individual guitarists in UK jazz. Though best known as a much-decorated poet, Paterson co-led the acclaimed Celtic jazz group Lammas with saxophonist Tim Garland for ten years and has recently been presenting his finger-style playing in a new group, The Don Paterson Situation.
Stephen is a prolific composer and one quarter of the Playtime group whose tributes to musicians including Pat Metheny, Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett have won critical and public acclaim. He has also earned a strong reputation for his work as a composer creating new soundtracks to classic 'silent' films including Nosferatu and Metropolis.
Together Paterson and Stephen promise melodic invention, warm audience engagement and a genuine sense of adventure.
Venue: The Red Door at St Peter's Church, Linlithgow.
