About FILM: Leave No Trace

Leave No Trace (2018)
Dir: Debra Granik
PG, US / Canada, Drama, 109mins

Debra Granik finally follow-ups her award-winning 2010 feature Winter’s Bone, with this quietly observed road movie about a veteran soldier suffering from PTSD (a remarkable performance from Ben Foster), who has chosen to try and live a back-to-nature existence in the Oregon woods, with his 13-year-old daughter Thomasin McKenxie (who featured in The Hobbit trilogy). This peaceful, peripheral existence is irrevocably disrupted when a serious incident forces the father and daughter to reconnect with modern society. This is a film with a strong eco-consciousness based on Peter Rock’s award-winning novel My Abandonment.
