Description : Comment fonctionne une cellule solaire photovoltaïque ? Comment les améliorer et créer des panneaux solaires flexibles qui peuvent être pliés et roulés ? Jean-Christophe nous parlera de ses recherches sur le sujet, et sur les composants électroniques à bases de plastiques en général. Tout ceci illustré par quelques tours de magie ! Enfin, s’appuyant sur son parcours et ses intérêts personnels, Jean-Christophe aimerait engager une discussion sur le rôle de l’Université et du savoir académique dans la société actuelle, ainsi que de la physique et des sciences en général dans la société, et montrer comment des recherches académiques en physique peuvent être appliqués à des besoins très concrets.

Bio : Jean-Christophe travaille actuellement en tant que « Public Engagement Officer » pour la School of Physics and Astronomy à l’Université d’Edimbourg, après une carrière de recherche en physique théorique (une thèse et un postdoc à l’Université Heriot-Watt, à Edimbourg) et des études d’ingénieurs en France. Jean-Christophe est aussi passionné de danse et musique folk, et est très investi localement sur ces sujets.
