St Kilda’s Secrets: A Minecraft Adventure

About St Kilda’s Secrets: A Minecraft Adventure

Unlock St Kilda’s secrets for the first time in Minecraft! On World Heritage Day, explore one of Scotland’s six World Heritage Sites and experience life on the extreme western frontier of Europe.

St Kilda is a group of five remote islands, located 100 miles off the west coast of Scotland. Thanks to soil samples, ruins and finds such as pottery and tools, archaeologists know that the islands were continuously inhabited for at least two millennia. The last residents were evacuated in 1930, but the island still attracts artists, filmmakers, writers and musicians – and now – gamers.

This isolated archipelago was digitally recreated by ImmersiveMinds, a games-based learning team who spent over 125 hours and used over 3 million bricks on the 1:1 scale, topographically accurate map.

Explore an environment on the edge of the world from the Bronze Age to the twentieth century, discover the hidden story of the prisoner of St Kilda, and uncover the archaeology of the island’s prehistoric roots.

Drop-in to Hawthornden Court, no booking required. Ideal for families and anyone interested in Minecraft!
