Learn how to make a leather case for whatever you want to hold (pencils, tools, cosmetics, glasses..); this class is the ideal introduction to leather working.

The perfect way to unwind for a few hours, this relaxed class allows you time to make a beautiful handcrafted item - something to use everyday or a meaningful gift for a loved one.

Using premium vegetable tanned leather, you will learn traditional handmade methods including how to mark up and cut leather, the technique of saddle stitching and how to finish your leather by bevelling and burnishing. This is an excellent class for a complete beginner to leatherwork.

You can choose your colour from a range of carefully sourced, high quality Italian leathers. I only use vegetable tanned leather (rather than environmentally damaging, chemically coloured leathers). You will learn age old techniques to make a handcrafted accessory that can last a lifetime.

All equipment is provided and at the end of the class you will take home your own handmade leather piece. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided to keep the creative juices flowing.
Class numbers are small (usually a maximum of 4 people) so you will benefit from specific support and guidance from your teacher.

I am located in central Edinburgh, just a few minutes’ walk from Princes Street.

Please note - this class involves some hammering (can be a great stress reliever!) If you are sensitive to loud noise this is not the class for you.

Upcoming Class Dates:

Saturday 25th January 9.30am - 12.30pm

Saturday 8th February 9.30am - 12.30pm

Saturday 7th March 9.30am - 12.30pm

Additional Dates: 15 February 2020, 07 March 2020
