ARCHIE MADDOCKS - MATCHSTICK
Just The Tonic at The Mash House (Just The Snifter Room)
Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August (not 13th), 1.55pm
First Review Date: Saturday 4th August
Award-winning Archie Maddocks presents Matchstick - an hour of biting, provocative, unflinchingly funny comedy where he explores his deepest and darkest thoughts, exposes his flaws and interrogates his personal connection to Grenfell Tower. Fresh from a stint in the BBC Writersroom, this “super cool, super smart storyteller" (Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke and Evening Standard) hilariously explores life, love and loss with a candid authenticity making him one to see this Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
As heard on BBC Radio 4’s New Comedy Award and BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Comedy Club, Archie’s natural stage presence, quick wit and confident, cheerful, provocative and, most importantly hilarious stand-up comedy has made him one of the most in demand comics on the British and international comedy circuit.
Matchstick is Archie’s third Edinburgh show, following his debut Shirts Vs Skins in 2016, which received rave reviews and toured South Africa in 2017. Last year’s IlluminArchie received critical acclaim from critics and audiences and was followed by a transfer to the prestigious Soho Theatre in London and London’s VAULT Festival in early 2018.

Before his arrival at the 2018 Fringe, Chris will have performed in over 15 countries as far afield as America, Australia, Singapore and Cambodia.

RUSS PEERS - HEREDITARY PEERS
Just The Tonic at The Grassmarket Centre (The Meeting Room)
Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August (not 13th), 7.10pm
First Review Date: Saturday 4th August
BBC New Comedy Award finalist and UK comedy circuit favourite Russ Peers is bringing his hilarious debut hour show ‘Hereditary Peers’ to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2018! Don’t miss this brand new show at Just The Tonic’s The Grassmarket Centre (The Meeting Room) from Thursday 2nd – Sunday 26th August (not 13th) at 7.10pm!
Living in London and attending swanky dinner parties, a lot has changed for Russ since his days working at a supermarket checkout in Cumbria…his life may seem very different to his parents' but is it? Does his impatience and need to switch off lights come from his Dad? Does his need to please come from his Mum? And why drag up as Madonna? Does he fight this or give in to being Hereditary Peers?
With his laid-back Northern charm and his marvellous anecdotal style, Russ has audiences rolling in the aisles as he takes aim at all aspect of his life and regales with stories from his journey from Northern pathos to Southern sophistication.
