VENT.
A world premiere devised and performed by Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble 2018
Directed by Ross MacKay
Designed by Fraser Lappin
Scottish Youth Theatre National Ensemble 2018, the prestigious company of emerging theatre makers selected from across Scotland, will tour VENT. to Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Edinburgh Mon 23 – Sat 28 July 2018.
The 2018 National Ensemble has spent the past year working with theatre professionals from a variety of genres and disciplines to develop their skills and knowledge. Collaborating with Director Ross MacKay (Tortoise in a Nutshell), they will present a new piece of contemporary theatre inspired by the theme of mental health. VENT. will tour nationally thanks to sponsorship from Richmond Oaks and match funding by Arts & Business Scotland via the Culture & Business Fund Scotland.
You can do whatever you want to in the VENT. But you only have 8 minutes.
What if there was a space where you could say what you wanted? Scream as loud as you can, cry your heart out or laugh until it hurts.... for 8 minutes
Then you have to return to the world above. What would you do? What would you say? What would you get off your chest and could it change your life forever?
VENT. is a new piece of contemporary performance blending physical theatre, live soundscapes and an absorbing design from some of Scotland’s most exciting new theatre makers.
