We normally perform three concerts a year, one of which is dedicated to JS Bach.
Our repertoire in recent years ranged from 16th to 20th century composers: Monteverdi to Constant Lambert, Byrd to Duruflé, Handel to Stravinsky.
The core of our activity is our Tuesday night rehearsals. We meet from 7.15pm in St Cuthbert's Church, Lothian Road, EH1 2EP.
Our new musical director is Nicholas Wilks, replacing Stephen Doughty, who has moved on to focus on his role with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus. Nick's experience and repertoire is both broad and extensive. He is currently the Musical Director of the Greenock Philharmonic Choir and the Paisley Sinfonia. Before he came to Scotland with his family, he was Master of Music (Director of Music) then Second Master (Deputy Head) at Winchester College.
Our accompanist is Malcolm Garden, a distinguished pianist, cellist and organist who gives public performances frequently, and a founder member of the Edinburgh Bach Ensemble.
