An Edinburgh institution with an international reputation, Hendersons opened in 1962 as an outlet for the produce of husband and wife Mac and Janet's East Lothian Farm.
Today it offers discerning diners cutting-edge, contemporary vegetarian and vegan cuisine while holding firm to its founding philosophy: serving wholesome food made using fresh, local and organic ingredients.
The unique buzz of the iconic Salad Table restaurant in Edinburgh’s historic New Town is complimented by the intimate yet informal atmosphere of Hendersons Vegan restaurant on Thistle Street. The original Hendersons Shop & Deli on the corner of Hanover and Thistle Street is a true Edinburgh institution. In 2015, Hendersons also opened at Holyrood next to the iconic Scottish Parliament to bring Hendersons unique brand of vegetarian and vegan food to the Edinburgh Old Town.
Hendersons is woven into the cultural fabric of Edinburgh and has longstanding relationships with artists, musicians and actors spending time in the city. The Salad Table restaurant has live music every night, and there are events all year round in all of our premises such as art exhibitions, book launches and more. Hendersons also provides catering on location for weddings, parties and corporate events.
All this, as well as a passion for healthy, tasty food, made with organic ingredients.
