The Category A listed building now boasts a superb art gallery, two stylish, contemporary function rooms and a stunning roof terrace perfect for weddings and other events, as well as an education room, café and much more.
The iconic building at the heart of Linlithgow's scenic Cross area re-opened in 2011 after undergoing a £5.2 million restoration, thanks to funding from West Lothian Council in partnership with the Heritage Lottery Fund, Historic Scotland and The National Lottery through Creative Scotland. Designed by internationally acclaimed architects Malcolm Fraser, the redevelopment sympathetically positions modern design alongside period features. Visitors to the Burgh Halls will find a new modern reception area with visitor information and panels detailing the heritage and history of the building, and the cafe, with a full height glass wall opening into the patio and Rose Garden area.
Whether you drop in for a coffee and snack, meet friends for lunch, want to see the current fine art exhibition or just want to admire the transformation of this historic building there are lots of reasons why you should visit Linlithgow Burgh Halls.
Linlithgow Burgh Halls is managed by West Lothian Council's Community Arts team. More information about Community Arts and the arts development work it is involved in can be found on the West Lothian Council website.
