History of Meadowbank:
Meadowbank Stadium was built for the 1970s Commonwealth Games, which was one of the most successful in the history of the event. After also holding the 1986 Commonwealth Games, it became the first venue to host the Games twice. After that, Meadowbank accommodated a vast array of memorable sporting and music events, the last one being Elton John in 2016.
