Taking over McSorley’s Irish Bar on Forrest Road, Ballie Ballerson will include a waist-deep, wall-to-wall mirrored ball pit filled to the brim with clear balls, that are cleaned, disinfected, and dried regularly, and change colour with the vibe of the LED disco bottom. The 300-capacity site is currently being renovated into a fun-filled attraction like no other in Scotland with a neon theme featuring bespoke murals and cheeky taglines painted across two floors by established graffiti artists and up and coming graphic designers.
Award-winning bartenders will be shaking things up with retro sweet-inspired cocktails including signature serves such as Dibbie Dabberson and Skittle Sour alongside a selection of spirits and beers.
There will be an on-site wellness room managed by first-aiders for customers to use as a safe space. A trained team member will be available throughout opening hours to support any needs including mental health support, first-aid attention, or as a quiet space to take a moment away from the dancefloor.
Founder, Wenny Armstrong said: ‘We’re so excited to bring all things Ballie Ballerson to Edinburgh. Scotland was an easy choice when expanding outside of England because we know Scots are always up for a good time. It’s been difficult keeping it a secret but we’re so glad to get the news out there and be ready to welcome some new ballers through our doors.’
Ahead of opening, Ballie Ballerson will be hosting a treasure hunt around the city encouraging residents to find exclusive prizes underneath a giant branded flag in various locations. To find out more, follow @ballieballerson on Instagram for clues.
Ballie Ballerson is due to open mid-summer from 6pm – 1am, Wednesday – Sunday. Bar entry is free and ball pit entry will be ticketed with managed time slots. To keep up to date with all things Ballie, sign up to the newsletter on www.edinburgh.ballieballerson.com
