This brand new way to experience concerts in the cinema has seen the film remastered for 4DX and ScreenX in a way usually reserved for Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters and now applied to live music.
For one night only, on Wednesday, April 19th, at thirty Cineworld locations nationwide, the film will come to Cineworld 4DX. In 4DX, music lovers can experience Coldplay’s hits including Fix You, Higher Power and Sky Full of Stars with seats that move in motion to the music and atmospheric effects including strobe lights and smoke effects.
On Sunday, April 23rd, the film will then show in ScreenX in twenty two Cineworld locations. Filmed using three ScreenX cameras to create an atmospheric 270 degree field of view, ScreenX offers a unique way to watch the concert, expanding extra content from the main screen onto the side walls of the auditorium, engaging your peripheral vision and giving Coldplay fans a chance to surround themselves in their seats with exclusive concert footage.
Cineworld’s VP of Operations Shaun Jones said: “If there is one band made for the big screen, it’s Coldplay. Their constant commitment to bringing innovation to their live shows is unparalleled in the music industry and we are so excited to give more people the chance to immerse themselves in the concert like never before, with our unique 4DX and ScreenX offerings.”
Bobbie Andrews, Managing Director of CJ 4DPlex EMEA added: “We are thrilled to bring Coldplay’s historic concert film to our premium auditoriums. Coldplay and Paul Dugdale’s directorial vision coupled with our immersive cinema technology will amaze and captivate audiences from the very first song.”
In Coldplay - Music Of The Spheres: Live At River Plate Coldplay perform classic hits from across their career including Yellow, The Scientist, Fix You, Viva La Vida, A Sky Full Of Stars and My Universe in a stadium bursting with lights, lasers, fireworks and LED wristbands. It also features guest appearances from multi-Grammy winner H.E.R., and Jin of BTS, who performs alongside Coldplay for the live debut of his record-breaking single The Astronaut.
The concert film will be shown in 2,000+ cinemas overall across 70+ territories on April 19 & 23 in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, who also executive produced the film alongside CJ 4DPlex.
