Since opening their doors at the beginning of March, Fayre Play – Scotland’s first adults only fairground games experience – has seen more than 10,000 customers through their doors, with demand through the roof.
Set to open in Picardy Place on 1st July, Fayre Play describes itself as the perfect place for visitors to enjoy a nostalgic mix of fairground favourites with a competitive edge. They can also expect live entertainment, plus loaded dogs, juicy burgers, cocktails and mocktails, with favourites including The New Yorker & Scottie Dog, along with the Clown Star Martini & Merry Go Rum.
Fayre Play will replace Fore Play Crazy Golf, which has welcomed over 100,000 guests from Edinburgh and beyond since it first swung into action with a popup course in 2020. The experience quickly built and cemented a reputation as a must visit, with hundreds of five-star reviews across Google, TripAdvisor & Facebook. Most recently, the team were shortlisted in the Small Business Awards for Service Excellence and Community.
Craig Neilson, co-owner of Fayre Play and Fore Play Crazy Golf, said: “Since we opened Fayre Play in Glasgow earlier this year, we’ve been inundated with requests for us to expand to more cities, and where better than Edinburgh?
We were the first people to bring the adults only crazy golf concept to Scotland, and we’ve had the best time entertaining our guests since our first Edinburgh popup opened in 2020. Now, it’s time for us to say goodbye to the crazy golf and launch our brand-new experience ‘Fayre Play’.
“Just like our Glasgow-venue, we’ve pulled together an amazing selection of fairground games, made them competitive and combined them with a host of brilliant prizes that’ll make you desperate to beat your pals. We’ll also be continuing our tradition of supplying some of the best hot dogs, burgers and cocktails Edinburgh has to offer. There’s a few other exciting things we’re working on behind the scenes that will be revealed in the coming weeks. We can’t wait to welcome customers along.”
Fore Play Crazy Golf Edinburgh’s transformation begins at midnight on 17th June 2023 and putters are encouraged to book in advance for one final ‘tee-off’, before the Wee Bobby golf course goes to the graveyard.
More information, including the list of games, food and drinks available at Fayre Play Edinburgh will be released in the coming weeks.
