Special occasion restaurant Gusto Italian launched its inaugural Chef’s Table Experience this Spring. The 6-course tasting menu was designed by Executive Chef, Graham Kirk and Group Drinks Manager, Josh Maudsley and serves a variety of contemporary Italian cuisine inspired by their “personal exploration of Italy”.
Gusto have now introduced a monthly evening where guests of 2 or more can secure a front-row seat on a table of 6-12 at this unique dining experience lasting 2.5 hours. Included is a personal chef, an exclusive seat at the chef’s table, a dedicated private host, and a welcome drink upon arrival, for £49.
To celebrate the launch, Gusto will be hosting an intimate Chef’s Table evening on 22nd September at their Edinburgh venue at 7pm. This evening is now open for bookings, based on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited spaces. Enquiries can be made to edinburgh@gustorestaurants.uk.com.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Ferrari Maximum Brut Rosé NV, which has been selected due to its ‘Italian Champagne’ status.
The dining experience will begin with Roasted Balsamic Beetroot, followed by either Butter Roasted King Scallop or Roast Artichoke, Truffled Linguini, Sgroppino - a refreshing Italian palette cleanser, Seared Beef Fillet or Vegan Flank Steak. The meal ends with a classic dessert from the South of Italy, a Ricotta and Lemon Tart.
Kat Schofield, Head of Sales and Marketing at Gusto Italian said, “We’re excited to create a closer connection to the Gusto kitchen for parties of just 2 or more, altered from our previous offer of 6 or more. Our goal is to create an intimate atmosphere for friends, family, and couples to be able to join us at the Chef’s Table.”
To elevate the evening, a five-glass wine flight has been expertly curated by Group Drinks Manager, Josh Maudsley, to pair harmoniously with the tasting menu for an additional £35 per person.
Josh worked closely with Graham when developing the menu to find the perfect wine to complement not only the flavours of each dish but also tell a story of some of the best wines produced in Italy.
Graham said, “I’ve been with Gusto for over 17 years and am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful and accessible experience. Offering an affordable menu is a top priority for me because I want everyone to enjoy the diverse range of flavours that reflect my personal exploration of Italy. The roasted balsamic beetroot and whipped goat’s cheese were inspired by a salad I tasted in Bologna. The acidic dressing accompanying the salad in Italy inspired me to introduce similar flavours to the plate by pickling the beetroot, adding complexity and acidity to the dish. The rich and decadent truffled mushroom linguini is a classic flavour combination from Piedmont, a region famous for its truffles. I’m really proud to present this menu as part of the Chef’s Table Experience“.
General bookings can be made for Gusto Alderley Edge, Gusto Edinburgh, Gusto Nottingham, and Gusto Oxford at https://gustorestaurants.uk.com/chefs-table-experience/
