He will run 7 ultra marathons (27.2 miles) in 7 days in 7 cities to raise awareness and money in support of people impacted by motor neurone disease, and his first run will be from Leeds to York on December 1st, followed by Cardiff, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dublin, Brighton and London.
The former Rhino player will cross the Forth Road Bridge before finishing at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.
So far, he has raised more than £8 million for the fight against MND across three endurance events. Each one has been inspired by his former Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow MBE.
“It has been a great way of celebrating the MND community and celebrating Rob and showing people we care. The support we have had has been amazing. The plan is to run seven marathons, plus an extra mile each day, in seven different cities in the UK and Ireland across seven days. We are really looking forward to it; there are 100 reasons we shouldn’t go again, but there are 5,000 why we should and the big reason is Rob,” Kevin Sinfield said.
Local company, BusinessWaste.co.uk are for the second-year proud sponsors of Sinfield’s efforts and are calling on businesses to get behind the cause. Every local firm is encouraged to donate and support this fantastic fundraising endeavour.
“The effort Kevin Sinfield and his team put into pushing themselves to the upper limit with these gruelling challenges to raise funds that support those living with MND and research into treatments and a cure is incredibly inspiring.” says David Adams Business Waste’ Managing Director.
“We’re really proud to once again get behind such a wonderful awareness and fundraising cause,” says Mark Hall, Business Waste Founder.
