Edinburgh community coffee morning raises £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support
On Friday 27th September, over 200 guests from the local area and wider Edinburgh community gathered for the fourth annual Macmillan Coffee Morning at McLarens on the Corner on Morningside Road to help raise funds for the charity.
The McLarens team rose to the occasion by bringing along their own homemade bakes for the event. Coffee morning showstoppers included epic caramel wafer cheesecakes, red velvet cakes and a mass of blondies, brownies and empire biscuits.
A variety of local businesses also supported the event by providing raffle prizes, stalls and guest experiences, including Charlie Miller, Intercity Massage, Tigerlily Boutique, Inside Out Chef, Can to Candle, Lind & Lime, Och Vegan Cosmetics, and The Rutland Hotel.
McLarens on the Corner is owned and operated by the Edinburgh-based Signature Group, a leading Scottish hospitality company made up of over 20 bars, restaurants, hotels and a brewery, including Edinburgh’s McLarens on the Corner, Cold Town House, Copper Blossom, The Rutland, The Huxley, Kyloe and Badger & Co.
Hannah McConnachie, Marketing Manager for Signature Group, said:
“We’re extremely proud to have supported Macmillan Cancer Support in Edinburgh for the sixth year running.
“Our Macmillan Coffee Mornings are always well attended and raise a significant amount of money to help local people affected by cancer. This year, we welcomed over 200 guests from the local area and wider Edinburgh community to McLarens for the fourth time, raising over £2,000 for Macmillan.”
Hannah added:
“We’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along to support this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning at McLarens and to our friends who donated generous raffle prizes.
“We’d also like to say a big thank you to Charlie Miller and Intercity Massage who come along to pamper our guests on the day, as well as all our stallholders, including Tigerlily Boutique, Inside Out Chef, Can to Candle, Lind & Lime and Och Vegan Cosmetics".
A spokesperson for Macmillan Cancer Support in Edinburgh, said:
“We can’ thank Signature Group enough for their incredible ongoing support. The funds raised at this year’s event at McLarens will go towards a large Macmillan information and support centre for one whole week, helping people affected by cancer to find information and support.”
Located on the corner of Bruntsfield and Morningside, McLarens has quickly established itself as one of Edinburgh’s leading family restaurants since opening its doors in 2020. A choice of all day menus, as well as alfresco and indoor dining options are available for families and their four-legged companions.
