FAQS

Tickets:

Can I buy tickets at the event?
Each year the event sells-out, so it's best to buy tickets online to avoid disappointment.
.
Do you offer discounts for group bookings?
This is a charity event so we cannot offer discounts.
.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No, it is not necessary. Please show the ticket on your smart phone.
.
Are refunds available?
This is a charity event so we cannot offer refunds.
.
Oops! I bought a ticket for the wrong display, can I change it?
If tickets are still available for the other display, then we'll be happy to swap them. Please note we cannot refund tickets.
.
What are the extra charges?
The box office is operated by CitizenTicket, who apply a 35p fee and 6% of the ticket price for each ticket sold. The booking fee is not refundable.

The event:

Is there anything new this year?
Yes, this year there is a spectacular light show, in addition to the fireworks!
.
Is there other entertainment?
Yes. You can expect a programme of singing, dancing, and music before the main event - the fireworks and light show.
.
I see there are two displays, what's the difference?
To meet demand, we run two displays - at 4:00pm and 6:30pm. Both displays feature live entertainment and a fireworks and light show.
.
Can I bring my dog / sparklers / BBQ / picnic table / fireworks / alcohol / Gran?
Only bring your dog if they are an assistance dog. This is a major fireworks display and is loud, along with accompanying music. Do not bring your pet and leave them in your car – they may become distressed during the fireworks.

Please don’t bring sparklers or fireworks. 21CC Fireworks provide the best firework display – no other fireworks are allowed on site.

Do not bring camping chairs, rugs, tables, BBQs....

This is an alcohol-free event, please do not bring any on site. No alcohol will be on sale on the night.

Yes you can bring your Gran(dpa) - the more the merrier!
.
Will there be food and merchandise available?
Yes, you can buy merchandise, and hot food and drinks.
.
Is it cards or cash?
Please bring both!
.
Will there be photos or videos?
Yes. By entering Myreside Stadium, you consent to this. An official photographer helps us with publicity. Customers like to take lots of photos and videos.

Getting there:

How do I get there?
We encourage customers to use public transport. Lothian Buses operate routes that pass near Myreside Stadium: 10, 23, 27, 38 and 45.

Haymarket is the nearest train station. Taxis to/from the train station should be pre-booked if required as there is no taxi stand at Myreside Stadium.

We discourage parking in nearby streets. This community event relies on the support of local neighbours, so if you choose street parking, please park responsibly.
.
Do you offer Blue Badge parking?
Yes. Please pre-book a disabled ticket. There is no additional charge, it just ensures we're ready to help you. Stewards will direct you to parking reserved for ticket holders with accessibility needs. Please ensure your Blue Badge is displayed clearly on your windscreen.
.
Can I get a taxi to the event? Can a friend drop me off?
Yes. Tell your driver to follow 'Drop off' event signage. This is also where your pick up point will be.

Accessibility:

Is the event suitable for disabled people?
Accessibility is important to Scottish Love in Action, the charity that organises the annnual Fireworks Extravaganza. We want the event to be accessible for everyone, but recognise everyone has different needs.

Accessibility provisions in place include a dedicated disability entrance with ramp. Stewards will guide you to the viewing area. These provisions are based on visitor feedback and we're always looking at how we can improve.

If you have any specific questions about accessibility, please email our friendly team at enquiries@sla-india.org before you buy a ticket.
.
Do you have a system in place for lost children?
We recommend dressing your young ones in bright clothing and if possible putting a copy of your contact details in their pockets just in case. Our event team is fully briefed and has systems in place to ensure the safe return of your children in the unlikely event they are lost.

Still have a question?
Then email our friendly team at enquiries@sla-india.org
