30.09.2023 — Family Programme (13:00-15:00) - Edinburgh College (Granton Campus)
From arts and crafts, to a puppetry show, to a drumming workshop, our family programme will keep everyone busy and entertained. ‘Emotions in Pictures’ facilitated by Visual Literacy Matters are returning to the festival due to popular demand. ‘Once upon a Raindrop’ by Natalya McDonald, a funny, cheerful walk-through performance for wee ones and their grown-ups , will cheer you up even in bad weather. And our full of rhythms drumming workshop with Morgan Njobo and Ramcise Modie will keep you tapping and clapping.

An eclectic mix of dance performances by Edinburgh based dance artists. An unmissable journey into rhythms and beats rooted in traditional and new dance styles.
30.09.2023 — Theatre Programme (17:30-20:30) - PASS Theatre, Edinburgh College (Granton Campus)
For the very first time in its history, the festival will host two full-length theatre plays, ‘Placeholder’ by Cathrine Bisset and ‘Rites of Passage’ by Luntu Masiza and Olivier Van Den Hende. ‘Placeholder’ set against the historic backdrop of 1790’s Saint-Domingue, tells the story of the female lead Minette who while waiting at the theatre in Port-au-Prince is haunted by ghosts from her past conjured up by the auditorium fumes. ‘Rites of Passage’ transports you into isiXhosa and French cultures while following the journey of two friends retracting the stories that brought them from boyhood to manhood exploring the themes of identity and acceptance.
01.10.2023 — MultiArt Programme (13:30-15:00) - Japanese Garden, Lauriston Castle
You are in for a treat at the Japanese Garden. Mio Shudo, a harp muse and storyteller, will take you on a journey not only with her music but also with Japanese Tea Ceremony. Elaine Cheng, a composer and sound artist from Hong Kong descent will share ‘Sound of Southside’, an experimental composition developed in partnership with the Chinese and Hong Kong communities in Edinburgh as part of her residency at Art27 Scotland. You will be also invited to write your own haiku poems inspired by the beautiful nature surrounding you in the garden.
01.10.2023 — Music Programme (15:30-18:30) - Lauriston Castle
Get ready to dance along to Los Chichanos hypnotising rhythms mixing a full rich percussion section, driving electric guitar solos and mesmerizing Peruvian melodies from the Amazon and the Andes. The Spinning Blowfish will get you rock and roll to their unique sound fusion of bagpipe infused Celtic, experimental, folk and rock. And finally, a special performance from the Voice UK 2021 Semifinalists the Motown Brothers Show Band, will take you back in time to the days filled with the sweet sounds of pop, gospel and soul.
