About Tom Oakes: Water Street - Album Launch
Edinburgh Flautist and Multi-Instrumentalist Tom Oakes presents the launch of his debut solo album ‘Water Street’. Recorded in isolation in the 17c Lambs House in Leith, the album is a response to isolation and late nights in sublime acoustic spaces. What initially was some 40+ tracks recorded over 5 months became distilled into an album and augmented with textures both instrumental, electronic and found. Musically Tom explores the very roots of his playing juxtaposed with where he is now as a musician and Sound Designer as ‘pure’ Irish Traditional Music sits alongside Extended Improvisations, Sampling and forays into the Contemporary Classical.
Tonight the album is re-imagined for a live setting with leading Scottish Guitar pioneer Graeme Stephen and more guests!
Booking Information - Seats will be automatically allocated to maintain social distancing. Audiences are required to wear masks at all times, unless medically exempt.
