Unfortunately due to the impact of COVID, we have had to move our planned live ‘Hogmanay House’ events at the Royal Scots Club and The Georgian House to a live stream event via Zoom. If you have tickets for the live events, please contact boxoffice@magicfest.co.uk
Using live music, magic & comedy to explore the origins of the Scots’ New Year celebration.
Welcome! Come in out the cold, and celebrate Hogmanay with us!
We invite you to Edinburgh’s New Town to enjoy a theatre show like no other. Make merry in the traditional Scots way with magic, comedy, live music and tall tales as we share (and demonstrate!) the weirdly obscure and most wonderful Hogmanay traditions from around Scotland over the past 500 years.
We’ve readied a cast of musicians, magicians and storytellers from around the country for an uplifting celebration of magic and origins of Hogmanay! Featuring phenomenal singer and songwriter Ainsley Hamill, award-winning musician Ron Jappy, astonishing mindreader Drew McAdam, silver-tongued storyteller Jock Ferguson and world-class card magician Lewis Barlow.
Written and Directed by: Kevin Quantum and Svetlana McMahon.
This event takes place on 30th Dec at The Royal Scots Club in Theatre (seated) format and then on the 31st Dec at Georgian House in promenade (walking from room to room) format.
Hogmanay House is supported through Scotland’s Winter Festivals.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
