You'll walk out of this workshop with a big smile on your face and the skills and confidence to try your hand at a variety of embroidery projects. You will learn 6 basic but versatile stitches, some beading techniques and will end up with a beautiful textile piece based on Dovecot’s current Morris Wallpaper exhibition, featuring symmetric, colourful botanical embroidery on exquisite jade-coloured linen. The session is aimed at complete beginners or those wanting to pick up embroidery after a long break, although more experienced embroiderers will enjoy learning how to use stitches more creatively. We will look at all the basic aspects of embroidery, from using a hoop to choosing from different kinds of needles, fabrics and threads. ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED.
