Design has dominated Paul Reeves’ life – from collecting as a child, to becoming an acclaimed clothing designer in the 1960s and early 70s. After a successful career in the fashion business, he turned to interior decorating and then later to his current profession as an antiques dealer.
Our forthcoming sale, inspired by Charles Eastlake's 1868 book of the same name, brings together items by Eastlake and his contemporaries, who championed simplicity and quality design, as well as works by subsequent generations sharing the same passion.
Highlights from our June auction include pieces by designers such as Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo, Selwyn Image, George Washington Jack, Philip Webb, E.W. Godwin, Ernest Gimson, William Morris, Ambrose Heal, A.W.N. Pugin, May Morris and from Paul's private collection, a group of 'fabric mosaics' by Mary Ireland.
