Sports’ fans will get a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a host of stars over the course of this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The team at elt.events has put together “Sport on the Fringe” which will see daily live interviews with audience questions, hosted by rising star Bobby Nwanze.
A show of this type has never been done in the Fringe and it will kick off with Scottish football legend and Braveheart himself, Colin Hendry on Friday 5th August, within the prestigious Royal Society of Edinburgh building on George Street.
Guests throughout the run include former Scotland bosses Craig Levein and Craig Brown, legendary promoter Tommy Gilmour and former World boxing champion Alex Arthur to name only a few.
Fresh from making his BBC debut earlier in the year, host Bobby Nwanze had this to say on his involvement with the project:
“When I got approached and learnt of this project I was very excited and happy to host. Historically the Fringe always produces great shows and Edinburgh is always vibrant and joyful. I’m looking forward to this.”
Sport on the Fringe 2022 runs from 5th to 28th August at the Royal Society of Edinburgh Building, 22-26 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2PQ. Tickets are on sale now from www.eltevents.live/sport-on-the-fringe
Kenny West, commercial director of Edinburgh-based elt.events, said: “It’s a big task to produce a show like this but we feel that it’s an area that isn’t really catered for in the Fringe right now, despite the amazingly diverse range of shows on offer. We are delighted to be bringing so many big names to the Fringe and giving the public a unique opportunity to listen live to the incredible insight and stories that Bobby will get from them, given his tremendous interviewing style. We are really looking forward to introducing Sport on the Fringe 2022!”
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
