Our enchanting guide will take you on a journey into the past & bring to life the stories of Edinburgh’s real-life witches & the great injustices that befell them.

In a tour that brings together history, magic & a sense that we can learn from the past, you are sure to fall in love with the city, its hidden gems & its fascinating (sometimes chilling!) History.

You may even learn some facts about much-loved characters from Outlander and Harry Potter!

Learn from a local Witch on the spellbinding Edinburgh Witches & History Walking Tour. Explore the dimly lit closes and spooky wynds of Edinburgh’s Medieval Old Town. Watch out on the cobbles as you lend your ears to terrible tales of the Witches of Scotland. Tread lightly as you walk on the very ground these mysterious and sometimes sinister events occurred.

This is an outdoor walking tour visiting famous locations and hidden gems such as Castlehill, Edinburgh Castle, Lady Stairs Close, The Writers Museum, St Giles Cathedral, Parliament Sq, Victoria Street, Grassmarket, Candle Maker Row, Greyfriars Kirkyard, and a myriad of narrow closes and crooked streets along the way.

There will be history and legends, hearsay and folklore. Listen in awe at these fascinating and chilling stories from the past.

We run the tour daily at these times Monday-Wednesday 4pm, Thursday 5pm, Friday-Saturday 3pm & 5pm, Sunday 2:30pm

Meeting point: Outside Cafe Nero, 1 Parliament Square, Edinburgh EH1 1RF
