Ever wondered what the earthworms in your field and compost are actually doing? Or if they can tell us anything about the soil they inhabit?
Join us for both days if you can.
Day One, you will learn about earthworm ecology, the impact of farming activity, and how earthworms are linked to the food system. You will learn how to identify earthworms and recognise the traces they leave behind in the field. Then we will head out into the fields to explore earthworm populations on the farm.
Day Two will focus on measuring earthworm numbers and identifying different species around Lauriston Farm. We will start the day with a recap then split up into groups to measure populations to understand the role of farming and land use practices on earthworm populations. The data collected on this day will contribute to national earthworm databases.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
