In collaboration with Heriot-Watt University and the TESLA consortium, The Linlithgow Museum invite you along to our 3D Printed Moon Base Workshop. The session is aimed at children aged 8 years old and upwards, and parents/carers are encouraged to join in and get creative too!
In this workshop we will learn about exciting research currently happening in the world of space, satellites and 3D printing buildings on the moon!
We will have a look at how 3D printers are used to make a whole variety of objects, from the tiniest machine parts to entire buildings. We will then borrow the technique to design and create our own moon bases from polymer clay.
The workshop is free but spaces are limited and must be booked in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Funding has been received from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no 811232-TESLA-H2020-MSCA-ITN-2018 - check out https://tesla-itn.hw.ac.uk/ for more information
