About Women Inspired by Street Soccer Scotland
Street Soccer Scotland’s Women Inspired event is back for 2023 with a stellar line up.
The event was launched in 2019 to allow sports icons, female business leaders and people of influence the chance to unite for one afternoon to celebrate International Women’s Day. This event aims to unite and inspire guests from across Scotland’s business landscape.
Since 2019, funds have been raised at Women Inspired, with all proceeds supporting a variety of Street Soccer programmes across Scotland including our Women only Street45 Programme.
Now more than ever, sports clubs and athletes are showing the impact they can have on society, whether that’s by supporting worthwhile causes, tackling inequality or using their profile to highlight societal challenges.
This year, we were delighted to be joined by Dame Kelly Holmes as a speaker. Dame Kelly is one of the UK’s most popular ever athletes and is respected across the world as a role model and inspiration. The event will also include a rousing performance from local music sensation, Brooke Combe.
With more entertainment to be announced, this event must not be missed. Taking place at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, we are looking forward to connecting with everyone for our first event of 2023.
Who we are:
Street Soccer Scotland is a Sport for Change charity using football to create lasting positive impacts for Scotland’s most at risk and socially disadvantaged. Using football as the engagement hook, we provide education, mental health provision, poverty relief, employability, social connection, volunteering opportunities and positive support networks.
Taking a trauma-informed approach, all our sessions are hosted in safe, welcoming and supportive environments. All our sessions are always free to access, removing economic barriers. Accessibility is further increased by our safe and welcoming environment, and vitally the lived experience of our staff. 80% of our staff have lived experience of issues such as mental health, problem substance use and recovery, and homelessness. We are incredibly proud that many of our staff are former players who have come through our programmes

Street Soccer players have a variety of life experiences and backgrounds.
We are open to all. No boundaries, no questions, no judgement.
Our Impact:
An Independent Report from Renegeris Consulting highlighted that the work of Street Soccer creates a Social Return on Investment (SROI) of £10 for £1 invested.
