About Perfect Pairing: A Wine Tasting Dancegustation
Perfect Pairing is a wine-tasting dancegustation where we are the translators of good times and maître d's of connection.
A collaboration between Xavier McGettigan (Director - Attitude Dance Company) and Laura Viva (Wine Manager - The Hot Chicken Project), Perfect Pairing is an original Australian work which provokes a conversation between the senses.
Perfect Pairing invites the theatre-goer’s favourite interval treat into the spotlight and challenges the connoisseur to développé the sensory strength of their wine-tasting talent. In an age where pairing wine with food is reaching its very limits, why not pair the Mambo with a Merlot, a Pop & Lock with a Prosecco, or Chassé with a Chardonnay?
Normally you’d pair wine with food, but here we’re pairing wines with dance pieces that match each wine. Four dance pieces pair perfectly with four wines, audience members over 18 can taste each wine and experience the connections between these two contrasting art forms.
Perfect Pairing is making its world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023, while Attitude Dance Company simultaneously makes its fringe debut. This unique work showcases the world-class quality of Australian wine and Australian dance in a fun and accessible way.
Don’t think about it too hard, drink some well-crafted wine alongside a showing of some delicious dancing!
