These classes offer a safe, inclusive environment to explore different aspects of drama and theatre. With an emphasis on group work and collaboration, the workshops will consist of exercises that illuminate varied aspects of the performing arts, from physical movement and voice work to storytelling and self-expression.
Each session will focus on a specific theme. Topics include reading poetry, singing, as well as non-verbal performance such as mime. There will be opportunities to look at plays and performance styles from other cultures, along with classical work of great dramatists like Shakespeare and Aristophanes.
As theatre is a collective project, most of the exercises will be based on working in groups or pairs. Participants will be able to work in close contact with others in a safe and confident environment. Whether you are new to performing or have some experience, this is a valuable opportunity to build your confidence and learn new skills, or just have fun in a supportive and creative setting.
Note: Please enter through the side door at 2 Gilmore Park, EH3 9FN for this evening class.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
