Gleneagles Townhouse will welcome contemporary Scottish artist, Sarah Anderson
Sarah Anderson – Scotland: Land and Light, 4 – 29 July
As part of its artist series, The Gleneagles Townhouse gallery, Lobby 37, will showcase a collection of work by landscape artist, Sarah Anderson. The exhibition will be open on Tuesday 4th July until 29th July, between 9am – 7pm daily. This will be Sarah Andersons’s first solo exhibition of 2023.
Sarah Anderson is a contemporary Scottish landscape artist, whose work is inspired by her home and studio in the Southwest of Scotland. Each oil canvas depicts dramatic clouds and shifting rays of sunlight over peaceful woodlands, romantic coastline and rugged moorland.
Moving to Edinburgh to study her craft, Sarah graduated with a Master of Art with Honours, in Fine Art from the University of Edinburgh in 1999.
Sarah said, ‘My inspiration is derived from the magnificent Scottish landscape, particularly the west coast. The recurring themes in my work reflect the dramatic effects of weather on the mountains and shorelines, trees and of course my favourite place, Edinburgh. The paintings I have recently completed attempt to envelop the viewer in the prevailing atmosphere.’
Further information on her work is available on her website: https://www.sarahandersonartist.com/
Lobby 37 is a gallery space within Gleneagles Townhouse on St Andrews Square, hosting exhibitions from artists each month. Open to members, guests of the hotel and visitors, exhibiting artists are often available to meet with to discuss their work.
