Self-Compassion Based Mindfulness Day Retreat

About Self-Compassion Based Mindfulness Day Retreat

This is a day to invest in yourself by unwinding, connecting and re-charging. We will use a soothing blend of mindfulness, movement, breath and sound healing practices to help rebalance mind & body, cultivate self compassion and boost your energy.

Compassion is the recognition of our own suffering and that of others with a deep commitment to alleviate that suffering.

Self Compassion is widely acknowledged, as the cornerstone of human health and becoming our best. Without it, we can sometimes be self critical, ignore our needs and prioritise others and other life activity, which can lead us towards burn out, emotional distress and health challenges.

Mindfulness, as a practice, creates the conditions for a calm and present mind, which can make compassion more accessible. Once cultivated, it can help us to learn how to look after ourselves well, become more sensitive to our difficulties, tolerant and accepting of our feelings, understanding and non-judgmental. With regular practice, we can develop an inner environment of warmth and kindness that benefits ourselves and all those around us.

Location: Wellbeing Lab, Restoration Yard, Dalkeith Country Park

Retreat includes:

Guided mindfulness practice both indoors and in nature
Connect with the body through Qi Gong
Recharge the body through mindful body scan
A range of relaxing and energising breathing exercises
Sound meditation with instruments
Various other compassion meditation practices
Mindful nature walks

This event presents a wonderful opportunity to learn and directly experience mindfulness practices, consolidate your already established practice and deepen wisdom and understanding from which we can all learn, grow and be nourished.

There is car parking (£3 per day) and a cafe at the venue where lunch can be bought, or please feel free to bring a packed lunch if preferred. We would recommend bringing a water bottle with you.

We will have mats, blankets and bolsters available. Please feel free to bring your own blanket or cushion if preferred and wear suitable clothing to maximise comfort.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This retreat is open to anyone interested in exploring mindfulness meditation, compassion, breathing and movement practices. It can be beneficial to have had some experience of mindfulness practice beforehand, however if you wish to attend but haven't had any prior experience, please contact us at info@themindfulenterprise.org so, we can have a brief discussion with you before booking.

WHO WILL FACILITATE?

Your facilitator will be Gary Young (Mindfulness Teacher - Founder of The Mindful Enterprise CIC).
