After the success of our Festive Wreath Workshops, get crafty this New Year by joining one of our Crafty Cream Teas in Corstorphine!
Venue: The Gift Tree, 5-7 Station Rd, Corstorphine, Edinburgh EH12 7AA
For budding artists, we kick off this January with the opportunity to create an animal character with guidance from Edinburgh based illustrator, Elaine Macintyre, AKA LeopardyNonsense. Don’t worry if you can’t draw, Elaine will guide you through some fun exercises and show you how to create an illustrated animal character that can be used on a greeting card for Valentine's or birthdays for a special loved one. Of course, you can keep it for framing and displaying in your home.
You’ll look at how to draw different expressions to capture character, creating animals in an anthropomorphic way and how clothing can be used to express personality. You'll then create your own animal character or maybe even two! With lots of books and pictures provided for inspiration, this is a great chance to get creative - no drawing experience required!
Price £40 includes all materials, including colouring pencils and paper, and a fabulous cream tea with delicious cake, scones and a choice of beverage.
Each workshop is two and a half hours long, with a break for the cream tea.
Suitable for participants aged 13+. Participants aged 15 and under must be attending with an adult over 16.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
