Here you will find a collection of wooden machines which demonstrate the fascinating and often bewildering motion of mechanisms. This is old-school technology: gears, cams, levers…those twisty bits… All working together to produce interesting effects. But of course nothing happens without the visitors helping out… by turning the handles!
Here you will see:
Clocks, with visible mechanisms that illustrate old school mechanical timekeeping.
Drawing Machines, which produce elaborate patterns. Just turn the handle and make your own!Automata, depicting the secret activities of our favourite hedgerow inhabitant, the Hedgehog.
Ball Runners that move wooden balls around in all sorts of crazy and complicated ways.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
