British artist Tania Kovats makes drawings, sculpture, installations and large-scale time-based projects to explore our experience and understanding of landscape. She is particularly drawn to water, both oceans (her work, All the Seas, comprised hundreds of flasks of water collected from all the world’s oceans) and rivers (her 2010 Jupiter Artland commission features 100 specimens of water from 100 different rivers around the British Isles). The SEAMARK tapestry is her first tapestry and will form part of her first exhibition in Edinburgh in a decade.
Tania Kovats will talk about her practice and working in a new medium with Fiona Bradley, Director of Fruitmarket who curated Kovats’ first solo exhibition ‘Oceans’ in Scotland in 2014. The event will include exclusive access to the Dovecot Tapestry Studio Viewing Balcony after hours with a welcome drink on arrival.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
