It's time to get on your bike and take on this amazing challenge to help the most vulnerable people from the cycle of poverty. Wherever you are and whatever the distance, join us in our cycling challenge this August, September and October!
You might choose one of our suggested distances below, or come up with your own. Cycle inside on a static bike, or take your challenge into the great outdoors! Easily set up your Just Giving page and get fundraising. Raise over £400 and we’ll send you a limited edition Pedal 4 Poverty jersey.
Suggested distances, in celebration of - and hope for - the reduction in healthcare inequalities that together we can achieve in the countries where we work:
India, The Bihar Ride: 30 Miles
Scotland, The Royal Infirmary Route: 60 miles (The distance between the main hospitals in Glasgow and Edinburgh!)
Nepal, The Pokhara Pedal: 80 miles
Rwanda, The Kigali Kicker: 100 miles
Malawi, The Balaka Blast: 150 miles
Zambia, The Victoria Venture: 300 miles
Mini Challenge: 4 miles (under 10)
EMMS International in Scotland's longest-serving healthcare charity. We work to provide access to quality healthcare for hard-to-reach communities in Malawi, Nepal, India, Rwanda, Zambia and the UK. Through developing palliative care, reducing the impact of disease and responding to healthcare emergencies, we tackle inequalities for those held back by sickness and poverty. You can find out more about our work at emms.org.
