Saxophonist Martin Kershaw, bassist Mario Caribe and drummer Tom Bancroft of the resident Playtime quartet play a special trio selection of the music of Duke Ellington.

One of the greatest composers and bandleaders in jazz history, Ellington has been an inspiration for almost 100 years and the trio will play a carefully chosen repertoire that reflects the diversity and strength of Ellington’s catalogue. Kershaw, one of the founders of Playtime, has great experience of Ellington’s music through his long tenure in the saxophone section of the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra, where Ellington has become a regular feature. Great tunes, great musicianship in an intimate venue.
