Why does dinner party cuisine from the 1970s look quite so appalling by modern standards? Join the International Ghost Society at New Town Cookery School to find out. During this event, you'll put together one of several classic 1970s dinner party recipes, then enjoy a delightful beverage (7Up and milk, anyone?) while we examine why dinner parties in the 1970s looked the way they did, tasted the way they did, and involved quite so much aspic.
Once your creations have had a chance to set, bake, or cool as appropriate, you'll have the opportunity to taste a little of everything. And while some creations might look appalling... we think you'll be surprised by how palatable some of them can be.
You'll be able to take way whatever you've made at the end of the class to share with your friends, family, and mortal enemies.
All the necessary ingredients and equipment will be provided, along with the finest 1970s recipes we could find. We'll also offer you a complimentary 1970s-themed drink to enjoy during the history talk part of the evening.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
