A tribute by Dumfries-based chamber choir The Balliol Singers under their director, acclaimed pianist Katharine Durran, to the late Edinburgh composer Tom Cunningham and his celebrated collaboration with best-selling novelist Sir Alexander McCall Smith.
The concert includes a complete performance of "Ninian's Gift", their penultimate joint work about the lives of the early Scottish saints, as well as songs from their other choral collaborations "Scotland at Night", "The Painter's Eye", "A Time of Gifts", and "Incredible Beasties". Interspersed with these are a 14th century Scottish plainsong hymn "Aurora rutilat", 16th century David Peebles's "Si quis diligit me", and Sir James MacMillan's "O radiant dawn".
