Join us for this unique, adult only, after hours event in the historic Museum and Library of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh on Friday 1st November!
About An Evening with Surgeons’ Hall
See behind the scenes and follow in the footsteps of some of history’s most famous Surgeons and visit our world-famous library. Here you will have the chance to view collections from one of the oldest and most comprehensive collection of medical documentation.
Wander into our historic pathology galleries where past surgeons expanded their knowledge and undertook College exams.
Can you operate a surgical robot? Would you know how to use a tooth key? Have you heard of Pathologists using AI? Throughout the evening our specialists will be on hand to discuss our collections and offer the opportunity for you to enjoy hands on activities. There will also be the chance to enjoy a series of bite sized talks and take part in a mini walking tour with our 5-star Blood and Guts tour guides.
We will be joined by pathologists from the Royal infirmary who will be chatting about their work, as well as members of Edinburgh University Dental Institute who will be discussing dental tools in modern use in comparison to our historical collection.
There will be a cash bar and an area to relax during your visit but please be aware that we do not have cloak room facilities.
Age Restriction: Age 18+
